Some people wear European hair wigs for health or religious reasons, other people wear them as part of a costume. I definitely fall into the second category, but I don’t just wear wigs when I’m going out to a party, I wear them any day of the week to complement my mood or my outfit. For me, nothing’s worse than looking the same, day in, day out!
I’m a little bit like Lady Gaga, who believes that fashion is art and enjoys experimenting with identity and persona, evidenced through her love of wigs and bizarre outfits. For me, every day is an opportunity to dress up and enjoy fashion. If I feel like wearing a 1920s style dress to work, I will, and pair it with a dark hair wig bob to really top off the outfit.
I don’t believe in putting stress on my hair by using expensive hair dyes or harsh perm and straightening treatments, just to achieve a different look. Why do all that, when you can just slip on wig accessories? There’s such a wide variety of wig accessories out there – short hair, wavy hair, colorful hair – and it’s so much fun to try them out and experiment.
